Portrait

Thus you were
mine in the branches of wind
Stars kissing bee
water for my dreams
You were
fresh coffee and snow
on the whisper of your singing
sheltered against my body
The way you were
girl’s silence among my books You
my steps running against time
rainbow of my crying
Thus you were day by day
messenger of the moon
last voice of summer
story teller of joys
Thus you were then

Retrato

Eras así
mía entre las ramas del viento
abeja besando estrellas
agua para mis sueños
Así eras
café fresco y nieve
sobre el rumor de tu canto
abrigada contra mi cuerpo
Eras así
silencio de niña entre mis libros eras
mis pasos corriendo contra las horas
arco iris de mi llanto
Así día tras día eras
mensajera de la luna
última voz del verano
narradora de alegrías
Eras entonces así

An eye looks through another eye

the street where
the caterpillar of life travels
devouring everything reconstructing it hating it
loving it
Desperately peering gets closer
and closer to the other eye until they are one
The caterpillar lays the threads of life
preparing the final flight
This metamorphosis has travelled so much
on the indifferent path of many other eyes
but it’s so small what has been lived
The wings open to the day and to its
impartial heat of happiness and sadness
Rise
wings of silk
you are the light crossing the universe
the bless and the spell of existence
The morning goes toward the evening
with a beat of wings that do not succumb
rebels in spite of the impossible
winds of tomorrow

Hi, I guess you are not back. The afternoon is getting long,
from its legs down. The music that I do not understand
is a pin in the pleat of your dress.

Let me tell you, the twelve p.m. breakfast has spring colors.
It reminds me of your voice when you said: Let’s karaoke,
instead you allow me take off the blouse of your coyness.
Since then, the sun of May slept for our joy.

With your eyes closed you yelled: God!
And Lima disappeared in the whirl of my mouth
in your mouth and I breathed slowly
on the highway of your body.

Travel south with all your craving, I told myself,
and bonded my hips to the waves of your hips,
showered in broken words.

Coca Cola on your lips. Inca Kola for me.
You smiled without knowing
from where I came or why I came back. Still
the hotel was an island for two.

You said: You have not changed a bit-
always crazy with sad eyes and you kissed me
again, again and again until I could not hold
myself, and sucked you like a desperate child,

and you moan between a new day
and a place impossible to reach, but
we tried night after night.

Addicted to each other’s skin, we didn’t turn off the lights of our fantasies.

Eagerly we stared at each other. There was a need
that our eyes get lost in the truth of our bodies:
Your breast, my shoulders, the curve of your buttocks,
the flatness of my belly or the exotic look of your eyes.

You joked: the bad side of my face looks like Faun
searching for a virgin to deflower, and then
you sat on the saddle of my legs ‘til dawn.

It was a new day and you whispered:
Let your soul cover me, the brume should not
wash heaven’s dew and you kissed me
halfway asleep and seven a.m.

Hola, parece que no has llegado.

Me recuerda tu voz cuando dijiste: juguemos al karaoke;

Dijiste: no has cambiado nada.
Siempre loco pero triste tus ojos y me besaste
otra vez y otra y otra vez y no pude contenerme

A man caresses
the pregnancy of his wife
What does he think about
the return of his life
to life or the giving
of his wife which is life?
This man caresses
and speaks with his wife,
Does he take care of life
or does he care for
the life that grows
and is his life?
She is a soil in springtime,
cloud ready to rain

Un hombre acaricia
el embarazo de su mujer
¿En qué piensa él,
en el regreso de su vida
a la vida o en la entrega
de su mujer que es vida?
Ese hombre acaricia
y habla con su mujer
¿Cuida él de la vida
o cuida de la vida
que crece y es su vida?
Ella es tierra en primavera,
nube lista para la lluvia
